Tamagoyaki is a Japanese sweet egg omelette.

  • 1 Tamago Pan


  • 6 each Eggs
  • 1 tsp mirin
  • 1 tbsp soy
  • 2 tsp sugar


  • Combine Eggs and water and beat until fully blended.
    Strain through a mesh screen strainer to remove larger egg parts.
    add sugar, mirin and soy to eggs and blend thoroughly.
    Heat a tamago over medium, adding oil as it comes to temperature.
    pour a thin layer on pan and once it gets solid on the top side roll towards the curved end of the pan. Move rolled up piece to square side of pan. Add another thin layer of batter and repeat process.
    Once tamago roll is done cooking wrap it in a bamboo mat and set aside in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
